Can freeze-dried strawberries be soaked in water or juiced directly?
Freeze dried strawberries are very suitable for soaking in water or making fruit juice. Due to the freeze-drying process retaining the original flavor and nutrition of strawberries, and their porous sponge like interior with strong water absorption, they perform well in both scenarios.
1. Freeze dried strawberries soaked in water
Quick rehydration: Put freeze-dried strawberries into a cup and add warm or hot water. It can quickly absorb water and expand within 1-2 minutes, returning to a soft state close to fresh strawberries.
Flavor release: During the soaking process, the sweet and sour flavor and nutritional components of strawberries will partially dissolve into the water, and the brewed water will have a faint strawberry fruit aroma.
Usage: After soaking, strawberries can be eaten directly as fruit pulp, or paired with black tea, green tea, or honey for consumption.
2. Freeze dried strawberries mixed with juice/milkshake
Excellent flavor enhancer: Crush freeze-dried strawberries with milk, yogurt, or plant-based milk in a blender/juicer to not only provide a rich strawberry flavor, but also give the drink a beautiful natural pink color.
Thicker taste: Compared to fresh strawberries, freeze-dried strawberries do not contain excess moisture, and the resulting juice or milkshake will have a thicker, smoother texture and more concentrated fruit flavors.
No need to thaw: Dried freeze-dried strawberries can be used directly when making juice, and the machine will thoroughly crush them and blend them into the liquid when running at high speed.
