Air intake problem of vacuum pump in vacuum freeze dryer

There are four common problems in the operation process of vacuum freeze dryer


1、 The sealing ring is aging and damaged
The hidden danger of pipeline sealing lies in the vacuum freeze dryer system. The sealing gasket at the interface of the pipeline connecting the vacuum pump and dryer plays a key role in preventing air from entering. During long-term operation, the sealing gasket must withstand various factors such as mechanical vibration, temperature changes, and chemical corrosion. The continuous vibration of the pipeline will cause the gasket to constantly rub against surrounding components, resulting in wear and aging of the gasket. Severe temperature fluctuations can cause the gasket to experience thermal expansion and contraction, gradually losing its elasticity and reducing its sealing performance, ultimately leading to air entering the system through the gap between the gasket and the pipeline.
2、 Key components damaged
Valves in vacuum systems are mainly responsible for controlling the flow direction and pressure of gases. Once the valve malfunctions, it will break the original vacuum balance state of the system, leading to the entry of air.
3、 Vacuum pump damaged
The components inside the vacuum pump are inevitably worn and damaged under long-term high-intensity working conditions. Taking the screw vacuum pump as an example, the screw is its most core component, and precise clearances need to be maintained between the screws and between the screws and the pump casing to achieve efficient pumping and sealing functions. However, as the usage time increases, the screw gradually wears out due to continuous friction, and the gap also increases accordingly. Once the gap exceeds the normal range, air will leak into the vacuum pump from these enlarged gaps, which will have a serious impact on its vacuum performance.
4、 Improper operation and maintenance
The stability of system pressure is crucial throughout the entire process of vacuum freeze-drying due to system pressure imbalance. If the operator makes a mistake during the control process, it is likely to cause pressure imbalance, leading to air entering the vacuum pump. For example, when the pressure inside the drying oven is high, if the valve connected to the vacuum pump is suddenly opened, the gas inside the drying oven will instantly rush towards the vacuum pump, forming a large pressure difference. Under this pressure difference, external air is easily sucked into the vacuum pump, thereby disrupting the stability of the vacuum system.
