Three precautions for strawberry dryer equipment

2026-07-29

Q1: How should the strawberry dryer be checked and loaded with materials correctly before operation?
A: Before starting the device, safety and preparation work must be strictly carried out. Firstly, it is necessary to ensure that the equipment is in a shutdown state and disconnect the power supply. Check whether the power cord, protective net cover, and drum components are intact, and conduct a no-load test run to confirm that there is no abnormal noise. In the material loading process, the "load balancing principle" must be followed. Strawberries need to be thoroughly cleaned and drained of surface free water, then evenly spread on trays or rollers. Stacking too thick or overloading is strictly prohibited (usually not exceeding 80% of the storage capacity). For strawberries with delicate skin, special attention should be paid to controlling the loading thickness and wind speed to prevent skin breakage from affecting the drying quality.
Q2: How to scientifically set the temperature curve during the strawberry drying process to avoid blackening of the finished product or moisture inside the outer paste?
A: Drying strawberries should avoid the principle of "the higher the temperature, the faster the better" and must follow the principle of "parameter gradient". Industrial grade heat pump drying usually adopts a three-stage temperature control curve: the first stage (about 65 ℃) is high-temperature setting and preliminary dehumidification; In the second stage (about 75 ℃), continuous high temperature dehumidification occurs, during which the strawberries shrink significantly and there is syrup leaching; The third stage (down to around 45 ℃) involves softening and drying. If the temperature is not properly controlled (such as exceeding 100 ℃), it can cause the strawberry surface to quickly crust, sugar to coke, internal moisture to be locked in, and the final product to turn black and suffer from severe nutrient loss.
Q3: What are the fatal misconceptions that are easily overlooked in the process of discharging and packaging after strawberry drying?
A: The most important thing to note is to seal before completely cooling down. At the end of the drying process, there is still residual temperature inside the dried strawberries. If they are directly placed in a sealed container, the condensation of water vapor (cold water) produced will provide a breeding ground for mold growth, leading to mold and deterioration. The correct approach is to thoroughly cool the dried strawberries at room temperature after stopping the machine and discharging them. After confirming that they feel dry, can slowly rebound after being pinched, and have no visible moisture, they should be placed in a sealed jar or vacuum bag. It is recommended to add food desiccants and store them in a cool, dark place.
